Where to find prospects¶
30 prospects in 30 minutes. Don't over-research.
Google Maps (primary)¶
Paste these queries, scroll, grab name + mobile + Google profile URL:
emergency plumber north londonelectrician harrow/electrician croydon/electrician watford(any town you know)boiler repair [town]24 hour plumber [town]gas engineer [town]local electrician near me
Why "emergency" / "24hr"? Those operators live by the phone — exactly who feels the pain of a missed call.
Checkatrade¶
checkatrade.com — categories: Plumbers, Electricians, Heating & Boilers, Roofers, Carpenters. Filter by your area. These are vetted, real businesses with phone numbers shown.
Gas Safe Register¶
gassaferegister.co.uk — "Find an engineer" by postcode → registered gas engineers, name + business. Good for legitimacy filtering.
Other registers (legitimacy check)¶
- FENSA — registered window installers, fensa.org.uk
- NICEIC — registered electricians, niceic.com
- NAPIT — multi-trade certification, napit.org.uk
Qualification (30 seconds per lead, max)¶
Glance at the Google profile, tick mentally:
- ✅ Mobile number shown (07…) → he answers his own phone. Best lead.
- ✅ Recent Google reviews (within ~3 months) → active, getting calls, has cash.
- ✅ Small operator (one name, one van vibe) → no receptionist, feels the pain, can say yes himself.
- ✅ Has a website or detailed Google profile → cares about getting work.
- ❌ Skip: big firms with a switchboard, no reviews in a year, landline only, "temporarily closed".
If it's mobile + recent reviews + sole trader → dial it first.
Build the day's list first¶
Spend the first 20 minutes of the day building 40 leads into the Call Log. Then dial. Don't search-and-dial — you'll lose rhythm.
